During her school years, her classmates affectionately nicknamed her “Seer” because she always seemed to know who would receive good or bad news before anyone else. These gifts, far from isolating her, gave her an aura of wisdom that naturally attracted those seeking answers.
At eighteen, Elara left Bergen for Oslo, enrolling in university for psychology while simultaneously studying esotericism and Nordic shamanic traditions. She trained under Marta Bjørnsson, a renowned Scandinavian shaman, who introduced her to soul journeys, lunar rituals, and the reading of subtle energies.
In 1999, she undertook an initiatory journey in India, visiting Rishikesh and Varanasi, where she deepened her knowledge of chakras, Vedic astrology, and ancient meditative practices. This journey allowed her to blend the Nordic traditions of her family heritage with the millennia-old wisdom of the East.
Back in Norway, she trained in Western astrology at the Copenhagen school, then obtained certification in cartomancy through the French Institute of Divinatory Arts in Lyon. These years of rigorous training laid the intellectual and spiritual foundations for a practice that combines discipline, intuition, and benevolence.
In 2003, a recurring vision guided Elara to France. She settled in Paris, a city she sensed would be the place of her professional and personal fulfillment. The French capital, with its rich history of esoteric traditions — from Nostradamus to the 19th-century spiritualist salons — appeared as the perfect ground for her development.
Her early years in Paris were modest but intense. She opened a small consultation office in the Marais, which quickly gained a reputation through word of mouth. Her unique combination of raw Nordic intuition and classic French divinatory methods earned her a loyal and growing clientele. Journalists, artists, entrepreneurs, and everyday people seeking guidance came to her for insights.
Paris, where Elara chose to settle and shine
It was in Paris that Elara discovered her true passion for the Tarot of Marseille. Introduced by an antique bookseller in the Latin Quarter, Monsieur Gaston Leroux, she spent years studying each of the 78 cards in their deepest symbolism — alchemy, Kabbalah, numerology, and Greco-Roman mythology.
She developed a unique reading method she calls the “Three-Phase Reading”: the past that explains, the present that reveals, and the future that guides. This approach, both structured and deeply intuitive, became her signature. She doesn’t just “read” the cards mechanically; she feels them, inhabits them, and lets them speak through her with an intensity that leaves her clients speechless.
Alongside cartomancy, Elara specialized in karmic astrology — a branch of astrology that focuses on lunar nodes, retrograde planets, and what is commonly called the “chart of past lives.” For Elara, each natal chart is a spiritual compass, indicating not only who you are but why you are here.
In 2014, she published a guide titled “Paths of the Soul — Understanding Your Karmic Natal Chart”, which became a reference in Francophone esoteric circles. Translated into six languages, including Norwegian and English, it earned her international recognition and invitations to conferences across Europe and Canada.
Her approach to astrology is humanistic: she does not believe in a fixed destiny, but in a path of possibilities illuminated by the stars. “The stars incline, they do not constrain,” she reminds her clients.
